As an aspiring applicant who is backed up by my 13 years of experience as a nurse (9 years with Cardiology), I can say that I have prepared myself well to meet the standards set for the role of Cardiothoracic Senior Staff Nurse.
My degree in Masters of Arts in Nursing (Major in Medical-Surgical Nursing) and as a Cardiovascular Nurse and Researcher trained me to embrace evidence-based practices. As part of our educational system to promote learning, I also have a background in nursing education that would be essential for mentorship that plays a big role for our colleagues and in promoting health education to our patients.
Moreover, with my years of clinical experience I can say that I have developed the required skills and knowledge of the structure and needs of a nursing system with regards to practice and management. As an overseas nurse practitioner when I started with NHS, I already have the experience of being the Nurse-in-Charge in the my home country for nearly a decade of my practice as an Intensive Care Unit Nurse. In my almost four (4) years of experience as part of NHS, I further developed my leadership and management skills by being familiar and knowledgeable with the system of NHS.
What motivated me to apply is my will to enhance and also share my knowledge that I gained through experience about Cardiology. Furthermore, aside from the given criteria needed for the role, I can say that my edge to every applicant would be my passion for Nursing. I believe that in order to love the profession, one must embrace the essence of being selfless and being one with people.

As a Coronary Care Unit nurse, I work for the day-to-day direct patient care from admission to discharge. This involves working alongside with cardiologists and other healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive care to patients with acute and chronic heart diseases. My responsibilities involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the needs of patients on and ongoing basis and maintaining records. I am also responsible for administering prescribed medications on timely manner as well as to educate patients on health maintenance and disease prevention.
As a staff nurse working under the Cardiology Care Group, we manage patients with Heart Failure, Coronary Artery Disease, Valvular Heart diseases, heart rhythm disorders, and diseases of the thoracic aorta. Moreover, we facilitate pre and post care for Cardiac Catheter Laboratory unit, Cardiac Theatres, and Vascular Laboratory procedures/surgeries.
At the Philippine Heart Center, I've worked as a Cardiology Nurse. As the top hospital in the Philippines for Cardiology, I was trained to different practices of the said specialization namely Cardiovascular Nursing, Cardiovascular Nursing Research, and as an Intensive Care Unit Nurse.
