Whilst travelling Australia I joined a nurse agency in Western Australia and worked a range of shifts in private and public hospitals. I worked on both medical and surgical units. I am comfortable with changing environments and thrive trying new work challenges.

My responsibilities included:

-Vital signs

-Admissions and Discharges

- Escalating deteriorating patients

I worked as a deputy ward manager on an acute medical ward. In total the unit had 19 beds specialising in complex gastroenterology needs and post op care.

My roles included:

-Taking charge of shifts to support my ward manager

-Partaking in twice daily ward rounds with the medical team to highlight deteriorating patients and assist with admissions and discharges

-Acted as visible and reliable point of contact on the ward to discuss issues, queries and concerns with colleagues, patients and family members.

-Provided excellent care with focus on patient safety, comfort and dignity.

-Supporting Junior members of staff

-Attending weekly safety huddles and escalating staffing concerns

-Being a student mentor

I worked on a 19 bedded Gastroenterology ward caring for a range of medical and surgical patients. I worked a range of shifts including nights and public holidays.

My skills included:

• Upheld patient trust and confidentiality by managing information with discretion, in accordance with data protection laws.
• Followed NHS procedures and protocols to safely prepare drips and transfusions.
• Monitored and recorded patient condition, carrying out and reporting regular observations.
• Delivered life support with updated first aid and CPR training.
• Quickly responded to medical emergencies, working calmly and professionally under pressure.
• Venepuncute, cannulation, catheterisation, blood cultures
• Wound care
• IT literate

I worked locum shifts across 3 hospital sites alongside my permanent nursing position to cover understaffed areas. I worked both day and night shifts and I am comfortable with changing environment.

My skills included:

• Upheld patient trust and confidentiality by managing information with discretion, in accordance with data protection laws.
• Facilitated efficient ward operations by maintaining stock control, promptly re-ordering low-stock medication and supplies.
• Assisted patients with healing and recovery after surgery.
• Worked closely with fellow nurses, doctors and clinicians for consistent communication and continued best care practices.
• Monitored and recorded patient condition, carrying out and reporting regular observations.
• Administered medication in line with stringent drug regulations.

Whilst completing my nursing degree I worked as a HCA on the staff bank in the royal Liverpool Hospital. I worked on both medical and surgical wards throughout this time gaining a great exposure to numerous medical conditions and treatments.

My skills included:

• Provided personalised care and support to vulnerable individuals, helping them retain maximum independence.
• Safely escorted patients to and from medical appointments and hospital visits.
• Monitored patients' conditions closely and escalated concerns to senior staff.
• Thoroughly sterilised and sanitised clinical equipment and accessories.
• Provided compassionate personal care for elderly patients, offering support with washing, dressing and toileting.
• Safely and securely transported patients using hoists and wheelchairs.
