Whilst travelling Australia I joined a nurse agency in Western Australia and worked a range of shifts in private and public hospitals. I worked on both medical and surgical units. I am comfortable with changing environments and thrive trying new work challenges.

I worked as a deputy ward manager on an acute medical ward. In total the unit had 19 beds specialising in complex gastroenterology needs and post op care.
My roles included:
-Taking charge of shifts to support my ward manager
-Partaking in twice daily ward rounds with the medical team to highlight deteriorating patients and assist with admissions and discharges
-Acted as visible and reliable point of contact on the ward to discuss issues, queries and concerns with colleagues, patients and family members.
-Provided excellent care with focus on patient safety, comfort and dignity.
-Supporting Junior members of staff
-Attending weekly safety huddles and escalating staffing concerns

I worked on a 19 bedded Gastroenterology ward caring for a range of medical and surgical patients. I worked a range of shifts including nights and public holidays.
My skills included:
I worked locum shifts across 3 hospital sites alongside my permanent nursing position to cover understaffed areas. I worked both day and night shifts and I am comfortable with changing environment.
