Work history

Shift supervisor

The Moorlands Stonehouse
Holmesfield, Derbyshire
2023.03 - Current
  • Started off as a part-time waitress whilst attending my studies at college. Within a year of working there I was promoted to management. Had to attend online training courses and team building exercises as well as attending assistant manager meetings held in the district to learn and develop the business to teach my team. Worked flexible shifts and long hours including 14 hours plus on Sundays.

Organisational skills

  • Confidently organised the business in managing staff rotas, coordinating over 500 bookings and walk-ins during peak periods and prioritising workflow across the kitchen and front of house teams. Skilled in stock control and ordering, overseeing opening/closing procedures including cash reconciliation, and maintaining smooth, timely service. Had to work fast paced when handling multiple operational issues simultaneously, such as customer complaints and delays. Demonstrated excellent verbal communication by leading shift briefings, instructing and coordinating team workflow all in fast paced real time.

Customer service skills

  • With my role I constantly ensured I had an outgoing, confident approach with every interaction I had with customers. It being one of my strongest attributes, I assuredly communicated in a professional manner and maintaining the service standards. I was able to de-escalate difficult interactions between customers and my team and take full control into turning anything into positive feedbacks.

Administrative skills

  • Another skill from my job role included having to declare end of day reports and monitoring sales targets with the use of Microsoft office. Writing handover reports and handling minor HR issues such as performance or lateness. I lead the role of stock counts and inventory tracking as well as placing all supplier orders which meant I oversaw all invoices. I documented any incidents in the business as well as following out all health and safety checks. A big part of my job was responding to inbound emails and phone enquires in a customer-focused, empathetic method and resolving any post-bookings or amendments with clear and accurate results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Carried out administrative tasks meticulously; kept accurate records of shift activities and incidents.
  • Conducted regular inventory checks; ensured consistent stock levels.
  • Fostered a positive work environment, resulting in increased employee morale.
  • Ensured adherence to health and safety regulations; maintained safe workplace conditions.
