I am currently completing a Business Partnering Apprenticeship in the finance department of South Essex College and just successfully achieved my level 3 AAT, with plans to progress to level 4. I am passionate about pursuing a career in finance, and both my studies and hands-on experience has fuelled my enthusiasm for the accounting profession and helped shape my career aspirations. I particularly enjoy management accounting and business partnering as it allows me to collaborate with different departments and support them in understanding their financial performance - something I find genuinely rewarding. I am eager to continue developing my skills in these areas with a long-term goal of progressing within the finance industry. Now seeking an Assistant Finance Business Partner role where I can apply my knowledge, develop further skills, continue to grow professionally and contribute to a dynamic finance team.
I have 18 months experience as a Finance/Business Partnering Apprentice in the finance department of the college, where I am part of the the management accounts team. During this time, I have gained valuable, hands-on experience in financial management, including supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts by creating and posting journals, assisting with budget preparation for the upcoming financial year and resolving financial queries raised by staff and budget holders across the college. This role has strengthened my understanding of key financial processes and taught me the importance of accuracy, attention to detail and effective collaboration. Working closely with colleagues and stakeholders has also developed my communication and problem-solving skills, as I help ensure financial information is clear, accurate and supports decision-making across the organisation.
