I currently work on the railway coming from a warehouse and retail background. I excel working with the public and feel energised from the roles I have. I am a confident and flexible colleague often stepping up to supervise stations where needed and changing roles last minute to fit the needs of the business. I’ve also faced challenging situations and think on my feet to get things done and have a lifesaver award from one of these efforts too. In the future, I’d like to become a Train Driver, however I would like to work my way up towards that. I currently reside at two addresses, one where I work in Kent and also where my partner lives in Blackpool, travelling between my rest days. I am hoping to relocate on a permanant basis.
My role is to make sure passengers travel safely through my station with a focus on customer service whilst still being mindful of KPI's. Daily duties include ticket checking, helping passengers journey plan, passenger assistance, cleaning duties and Gateline compliant duties. On top of this, I went ahead and got my Dispatch Licence so I could help cover the platform when needed and also got myself signed off around local stations to further help. I also get asked to help cover Supervisor shifts at some stations.
I worked at this Warehouse previously in June 2019- April 2021 and then I came back to work here.
Day-to-day duties included health and safety checks of the equipment, accuracy check of stock, picking and then prepping pallets to be loaded. To pick we used a headset system and drove LLOP trucks. The picking is target driven and we worked as a team to achieve these. I also often helped train new colleagues to learn the day-to-day role and help them achieve targets. I was chosen to travel to learn new systems to then come back and roll out into this warehouse too.
Duties included working in a very high paced environment whilst providing customer service. We managed many jobs at the same time throughout the day including stock replenishment, cleaning, till work, small scale warehouse management and stock reports. We also had knowledge of store KPI's and PLU's and worked towards them constantly.
My role as a Key Holder was to be responsible for opening and closing the store. I also handled the safe keys and made sure that the floats are correct in the mornings and evenings. General duties include shop floor replenishment and customer service, phone enquiries, working deliveries and stock reports. I also hosted event nights, covered shifts for stores in London and took a lead role when duty in store.
My role at Asda started as a process colleague which included dealing with reports, replenishment of stock, price changes, and shop floor customer service. I was promoted to Section Leader in July 2017, where I managed a team of over 30 people to run the home shopping delivery service. Duties included managing driver routes and the pick, over the phone customer service, problem solving and helping with rota's.
