I am a PGCE Secondary Mathematics student teacher at Durham University, having successfully completed my first school placement. Prior to joining Durham, I gained extensive experience in mathematics education across both China and the UK, working with students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds. Over the course of my professional journey, I have developed from delivering mathematics instruction exclusively in Chinese to teaching confidently and fluently in English, supporting learners from Asia, Europe, Africa, and beyond.
I bring a strong sense of initiative and resilience to my practice, shaped by six years of professional exploration following graduation, during which I also completed a master’s degree. These experiences have strengthened my adaptability, perseverance, and reflective approach to teaching and learning. I am highly motivated to continue challenging myself professionally and am committed to inclusive, high-quality mathematics education. Looking ahead, I aspire to work in a diverse and inclusive environment where I can continue to grow as an educator and contribute meaningfully to the field of mathematics education.

By using the company’s online English animation materials and Singapore math methodologies, I deliver lessons to children aged 9-15, aiming to enhance their mathematical and English ability through attending globally recognized maths competitions, lessons are taught in full English.
The maths competition courses that I am teaching are AMC( American Mathematics Competition), the Australian Kangaroo Math Contest, and the Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad (SASMO). Over my two years teaching, I helped more than 20 students achieve gold awards in these competitions.
ON CAMPUS Southampton is an educational institute offering high-quality university preparation programs for international students at the University of Southampton.Upon successful completion of the OnCampus programme, students can progress to a undergraduate degree at the partner school. As the part time A-level maths teacher, my role was to guide students through a comprehensive review of the A-level mathematics curriculum. My students are from a wide range of countries such as The US, China, Nigeria, Malaysia, Kuwait, etc.
My role involved teaching mathematics to middle and high school students in bilingual language ( depending on students’ language level, the ratio was normally 60% Mandarin and 40% English, with the English part mainly focused on the mathematical vocabulary).I supported middle school students in preparing IGCSE exams and helped my high school kids succeed in AP calculus and A-level maths exams to apply for universities abroad. Additionally, I regularly conducted parents meetings to discuss students’ academic progress and university application matters.
My primary responsibility was to teach calculus to vocational college students aiming to pass the university entrance exam in which calculus is a mandatory subject. I delivered content in a lecture format to adult learners aged 19-21. Spontaneously, I was also responsible for generating mock test papers and assessing student progress to ensure their successful pass for the calculus exam.
