I have had many opportunities through my different job roles, although they have all been sale assistant jobs, they have given me alternative key skills that I can transfer into this position. I am a hard-working individual and am always up for any opportunity that is given to me. I have spent 2 years in retail and started doing some administrative work. I am an extremely organised individual, with great customer service skills and the ability to integrate effectively into teams. Within my sale assistant roles, I have had access to a wide range of opportunities including; maintaining the shop floor and stockroom standards, rotation of foods, FOA and money waste and stock management of food, induction training, customer service, banking and recruitment. Recruitment gives me the opportunity to express my passion for these roles, I am the first point of contact for new employees so a high level of professionalism and care in my work is essential. I have customer skills to a level that allows me to positively deal with enquires and complaints. This involves advising in a respectful and friendly manner utilising my strong communication skills. Within my Person In Charge training, I maintain the staff on the shop floor, helping with complaints, training and training of new starters.
I am a Person In Charge within Next which means I am responsible for other colleagues making sure their training and records are up to date. My other duties within Next are to manage the deliveries into the branch, making sure any staff are completing these duties safely and effectively. I am also responsible for serving customers on the branch shop floor and banking at the end of the day.
My main duties were customer service on the shop floor and maintaining the stockroom.
My main duties at Sainsbury's were taking responsibility for replenishing the stock, interacting with customers and stock checking.
Problem solving - I have developed a problem solving approach to problems and challenges that I am faced with This is particularly apparent within my role as an archery coach Within this I am given a basic set of guidelines to assist me, however this does not always meet the needs of the archer Therefore I have worked with my mentor and been able to learn how to adapt these guidelines, employing a problem solving approach to meet the needs of the archer
Independence - I work well as part of a team, but I am able to work independently completing tasks assigned to me in a timely manner and to a high standard An example of this is where I have been given the responsibility to complete tasks at Next with minimal supervision that others have not been able to do
Teamwork - I have been part of teams throughout work and through my interests such as archery and netball I enjoy working closely with others and helping support them to achieve their goals and that of the team
Organisational skills - I am an organised person and keep myself to high standards of time management and deadlines Being a team leader is a key example of organisation and leadership skills making sure to track and help everyone to complete their training before the deadlines
I would want to develop skills and knowledge in, analytical and research skills, assessing different scenarios and know best to react. I have a good understanding of computers and electronics but would like the opportunity to develop this further. I would like the opportunity to adapt to a new working environment, I have worked successfully in many stores, with many different people, of all levels and ages, I have built strong working relationships which I have been able to call on for support, and vice versa. I would like to develop my leadership and management skills further, I am currently a Person In Charge and also team member trained, I manage the new starters on day and work through their training needs. I am keen to learn, willing to deliver to the best of my ability and drive my passion into something new. I would like to learn new skills, deal with new areas of technology, meet new people and develop my customer service skills.
I took up archery as a sport 5 years ago and I am a Junior Master Bowman title holder and was ranked 27th in the country with Oxford Archers. This sport is all about determination, motivation and dedication. It is also about the love for the sport, as well as the confidence you build within yourself whether it be from the winning proving to your ability or with the club between other archers. Unfortunately, straight after this I managed to get an injury. Until you have an injury or a setback you never really understanding the amount of commitment and dedication you put into the sport. When you’re trying to find the motivation and confidence to go back out on an injury. This has helped me to become more determined and confident, as I needed a lot of determination to complete my recovery process which was a long and ongoing process. Which at the time feels like a failure after the achievement you had previously achieved. But it’s probably the greatest achievement to go back out after it all. I am also a level 1 coach trying to train to become level 2. As well as being a coach I love volunteering my time to help out at my club with beginners courses and coaching sessions and also as records and safeguarding officer and previously equipment officer.
I am also enjoy art, doing pointillism style art pieces and photography.
