• Responsible for holding the current administration at the District Council to account on the policies and plans they implement and to also, where applicable, offer alternative policies and suggestions.
• Responsible in holding the portfolio holder for the environment and Climate Change and the administration to account upon the policies and strategies that they develop within this remit, including services such as waste management, and recycling, land drainage, watercourses and climate change.
• Oversaw a committee, of thirteen members, which primary role was to review and scrutinise decisions made by the Executive within the remit of the committee, and to also review and scrutinise current Council policies and consider future policy development within the remit of the committee.
• The committee oversaw a variety of matters including: finance, budget consultations and civic support.
• Drafted campaign literature to be delivered to the public and used Mailchimp as a communication tool to develop outreach with members on our activities and to increase participation.
• Organised selection process events and Annual General Meetings.
• Provided briefings on campaigns and communication activities.
• Delivering marketing through social media and produced social media posts to drive engagement with our association and an understanding of our activities.
• Volunteered at the Live at Home Scheme which supported individuals who suffered with dementia and their families through providing a day of activities giving there carers much needed respite
