  • Experience of drafting policy legislation through a motions. Including on District wide ban on the release of Sky Lanterns and Balloons on Council owned property, in order to safeguard the safety of residents, wildlife and the wider environment, and regarding Alcoholism Awareness, calling on Cannock Chase District Council to participate in the Alcoholism Awareness week organised by Alcohol Change UK, and to ask the council to further develop the Cannock Chase App to track their alcohol intake and water intake on the app and to include details both local and national contact details of charities and support networks which can offer support to individuals suffering, to offer further support to individuals suffering from Alcohol addiction.
  • Completed a variety of training sessions during my time as a District Councillor including Carbon Literacy Training and also a training session through the Local Government association on Chairing Skills.

• Responsible in holding the portfolio holder for the environment and Climate Change and the administration to account upon the policies and strategies that they develop within this remit, including services such as waste management, and recycling, land drainage, watercourses and climate change.

Chair Of Local Boundary Review Working Group

  • Chaired and oversaw a cross party working group which seeks to put together a collective council submission, which has been submitted to the Local Boundary Review Commission for England, for the District Council electoral wards of Cannock Chase.
  • As Chair of this group, during the first phase, required, to provide recommendations to council on boundary changes and had to provide information for relevant documentation and presentation of these recommendations. The working group then reconvened, for the second phase, to establish potential changes which could be made to the commissions in regards to their initial proposals for the Cannock Chase District Council electoral wards.
  • The working group had established potential cross party changes which could be submitted to the Local Boundary Review Commission for England, and hence following a presentation as chair to full council on the 18th January 2023 of the working groups final recommendations for changes, the working group had completed its purpose in January 2023
