Becoming a cadet in the fire service has given me a great opportunity for insight into a possible career path in the future.

I have learnt the importance of teamwork throughout my time with the cadets which has brought me closer to my peers; making strong friendships. Teamwork is especially important when on the drill yard due to the dangers which surround us. We put trust into one another when working as this builds a stronger foundation to our friendships.

I have volunteered at the fire station several times for events such as open days. These events have given me opportunities to develop my communication skills with members of the public and help them with their needs. One event i worked as the cashier for a small toy stand. Doing this let me improve my customer service skills along with testing my quick maths skills which helped boost confidence for my exams i had near the time.
