  • I worked at M&S for a Christmas seasonal role; my job was working backstage, which consisted of a range of responsibilities;
  • Moving and distributing stock from the warehouse and backstage areas to the shop floor to ensure shelves were well stocked throughout the day.
  • Working early morning shifts (starting at 5 am) to prepare the store for opening and meet tight deadlines.
  • Supporting different departments by prioritising urgent stock requirements during busy periods.
  • Assisting on the shop floor when required, replenishing shelves, and providing helpful responses to customer questions and enquiries.
  • Working closely with the wider operations, and shop floor teams to ensure efficient stock flow.

  • While working at a busy local café that also operated as a bar in the evenings, I gained valuable hands-on experience in customer service. I developed strong communication and interpersonal skills by engaging with a wide range of customers daily. This role also taught me how to stay calm under pressure, handle difficult situations professionally, and multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The experience enabled me to become more resilient, hard-working, and confident in dealing with customers.

  • - Worked collaboratively with kitchen and service teams to deliver efficient, customer-focused service in a fast-paced environment.

  • This role gave me valuable insight into fast-paced hospitality work and taught me the importance of teamwork, communication, and reliability under pressure. It was a great experience that strengthened my ability to collaborate effectively.
