Work history

Student Coordinator

Milk Education
Scunthorpe
2025.09 - 2026.04
  • I am working with an agency, going into schools to fill a variety of roles. I'm currently on a long-term placement as student coordinator and admin assistant. This involves high levels of organisation and resilience to ensure the students’ experience with us goes smoothly and enables their progression and achievement. This role has developed my skills in time management and prioritising workload. I also understand the complex relationships that are necessary for a business to run efficiently, and recognise the importance of clear communication throughout the whole supply chain.

Outreach Instructor

Pivot Academy
Huddersfield
2025.02 - 2025.10
  • My role required me to create and deliver a bespoke curriculum to each of our students, all of whom had an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) and could not access mainstream education. This may be due to anxiety, past trauma, or learning difficulties. I was mainly responsible for PSHE, which involved a lot of life skills - outdoor education, building confidence in social situations, mental health support, and working closely with the families to continue micro-routines and coping strategies within the home. Working with the families, and building relationships within the home, became the most rewarding part of this role for me. I feel very privileged to have been a safe, approachable person who could offer support and positivity, and would like to find a long-term position where I can continue being a good influence in my community.

Freelance Surveyor

Smeeden Foreman
Yorkshire
2021.06 - 2025.02
  • I was mainly responsible for surveying structures for bat species to ensure their welfare was prioritised during any building works. I have also been involved in translocation surveys of native reptiles. This role required me to be highly punctual and an effective communicator, to pass on the correct information regarding my findings. I worked independently on my section during the surveys, then collaborated with colleagues to bring all our information together for a final report.

Safeguarding Officer

Askham Bryan College
York
2022.08 - 2024.04
  • As a residential warden, I completed a Level 3 Safeguarding qualification and was responsible for ensuring any students living on site were safe at all times. This included the safeguarding of under-18’s, as well as driving them in a minibus for trips and medical needs. Throughout this role, I dealt with some severe and difficult situations, always maintaining a professional attitude and calm manner. This role increased my confidence in dealing with confrontation, and also improved my understanding regarding whistleblowing procedures and the involvement of emergency services if and when necessary. I also lead enrichment activities, which built my self esteem when communicating and socialising with children and young adults.

Course Manager

Askham Bryan College
York
2021.10 - 2024.04
  • I was a specialist lecturer in Ecology and Conservation, planning and delivering lessons, as well as assessing students on their practical skills and knowledge. I was also responsible for tracking student progress and achievement in order to meet KPI targets. As a Course Manager, I worked as part of a very large team, sharing information as required and collaborating to deliver important data and information to upper management. However, this was also a very autonomous role, as the specialist modules which I delivered were not well-known by other members of staff. My role involved planning trips and ordering resources necessary for the course, to ensure students could access their full potential. I also gained 3 years’ experience assessing student work and grading assignments, as well as organising evidence for each student to send to exam boards for verification.

Retail Assistant

Co-Op
Huddersfield
2020.08 - 2021.09
  • As a customer service assistant, I became very confident with multitasking while maintaining a positive, outgoing personality, meaning I was often asked to be in a customer-facing role for the duration of my shifts. I enjoyed helping people where possible, keeping busy and always found joy in socialising with regular customers. I was also responsible for key-holding, closing up the store, cash-handling and transferring this to the safe as needed.

Dog Groomer

Pets at Home
Huddersfield
2019.03 - 2020.08
  • I was a dog grooming stylist, responsible for caring for the dogs throughout their stay, prioritising their health and welfare. This involved understanding emergency procedures in case of accidents or illnesses involving the animals, as well as health and safety legislation relevant to both humans and animals within the workplace. I also had to communicate with customers about difficult issues such as aggressive behaviour, parasite infestations and heavy matting which compromise the health and wellbeing of the dog.

Barista Maestro

Costa Coffee
Huddersfield
2018.01 - 2019.03
  • I was responsible for providing high quality customer service, as well as brand-standard products to specific requirements for the customer. I became Maestro after completing regular training and assessments. Getting to know regular customers and building a rapport with them was a very enjoyable part of my role and I still see some of those people today as friends.
