  • Designed and developed the Yourgene Insight DPYD (RUO and IVDR) molecular diagnostic assay in 18 months.
  • Study planning in-silico and in-vitro for proof-of-concept studies through to final regulatory submission.
  • Primary consult for primer design and leader of multiple complex studies across feasibility, development and verification phases.
  • Singlehandedly co-ordinated days in the laboratory in which record levels of processes were performed.
  • Mass kit manufacture following strict operations procedures.
  • Scientific writing of cross-functionally relevant study protocols/reports and customer-facing documents.
  • Safe handling of clinical samples and training in the Human Tissue Act 2004.

  • 13-month student placement that transitioned into contractual part-time employment during my final year of University, and retained for permanent full-time work post-graduation.
  • Direct involvement in 4 different qPCR-based projects with experience in Feasibility, Development and Verification studies. My primary project was awarded the internal prize for ‘Project of the Year’.
  • Conducted an independent study for 9 months (Proof of Concept: rhPCR). Presented findings to the entire Molecular Assay Development Department, including the QIAGEN Head of Franchise VP and the QIAGEN Senior Director and Global Development Lead in MDx.
  • Assumed the role of training co-ordinator for the use of Seagull Scientific BarTender software and Zebra Printers. Rebooted the training team and revitalised the presentation used for training.
  • Mentoring and supervision of lab work training of new Technical Assistants to project team.
  • Consistently excellent feedback from project team and colleagues, achieving 100% in all personal 2023-2024 personal goals.
  • Achieved a BSc First Class (Hons) degree alongside prioritising my work at QIAGEN.
