In this job role, I currently work as bank staff. I work on different wards throughout Ninewells hospital, within them wards I need to Support patients through personal care tasks such as toileting, showering and feeding, maintaining sensitivity to needs and ensuring comfort, dignity and safety throughout. Report any changes to the charge nurse that is on shift with me. In this job role i have also been getting the opportunity to learn new skills, such as taking patients observations and being able to document it correct in the table and working out if they score between 1-3. This job role requires me to be very polite and ensure that the patients in the wards I'm working in feel at ease while in the care.
In this job role I was working with 16 residents with Dementia patients. In this job role, it required me to provided positive care practise. This job role also required me to ensure that I was meeting the needs of the residents, I also ensured that I was reporting any changes to the senior members of staff on the residents.
In this job role during the pandemic, I stayed at my place of work, to ensure that the residents were still getting the best care and where safe from Covid 19.
In this job role, I would do several activities with the residents to help keep meet their physical needs and Cognitive needs.
This job required me to be able to interact with District nurses and Doctors that were coming into the home, let them know about the residents condition and any their currant health. I also had to be able to interact with their family and keep them UpToDate with their loved ones care plans and any changes to their health.
In this job role, I had to ensure that I observed patient condition and behaviour closely, reporting changes or concerns promptly. Also working in this job role, I would ensure that I was provided patients with opportunities for social activities, maintaining well-rounded care offerings and enhancing mental wellbeing. This job role was extremely challenging as it was working this individuals with Huntington Disease, this required a lot of one to one care, which I loved as it was challenging.
