With over 20 years of experience as a qualified nurse in Sri Lanka, I have developed extensive clinical expertise across a wide range of acute and surgical care settings, including Emergency Departments, Intensive Care Units, Operating Theatres, and both Medical and Surgical Wards. I also have a strong background in nursing education, having supervised and mentored student nurses and newly qualified staff. These experiences enhanced my ability to conduct thorough clinical assessments, respond effectively to complex patient needs, and contribute proactively to multidisciplinary teams. Since relocating to the UK, I have continued my healthcare journey and currently work as a Healthcare Team Leader in a residential care setting. In this role, I am responsible not only for coordinating and supervising the care team but also for administering medications safely and accurately to residents as part of their daily care plans. This hands-on clinical responsibility enables me to maintain and apply my nursing skills within the UK framework while supporting residents’ health, dignity, and well-being. I am in the final stages of completing the process to become a registered nurse in the UK, with the only remaining requirement being the successful completion of my English language proficiency exam. This process demonstrates my commitment to professional development and to fully aligning my practice with NMC standards. What sets me apart is the combination of my in-depth international nursing experience, current leadership and clinical responsibilities in a UK care environment, and a strong commitment to high-quality, compassionate care. I am particularly passionate about creating a supportive environment for both patients and staff, and I consistently strive to uphold safety, dignity, and respect in all aspects of care. This role represents a meaningful opportunity for me to transition fully into UK Care Team Leader practice, contribute my skills, and continue growing within the values and standards of Sanctuary care.
Motivated Care Team Leader with strong leadership abilities and deep understanding of patient care. Demonstrates commitment to fostering a supportive environment for both patients and staff. Skilled in managing daily operations, resolving conflicts, and ensuring high standards of care. Brings a proactive approach to improving team performance and enhancing patient satisfaction.
