Chandani Persaud

Summary

I have a natural passion for learning. While earning Science qualifications at two Russell Group universities, I also became the lead choreographer at my parents' dance school. I organised community performances, managing choreography, logistics, costumes, and music for students aged 5 through to adults. Combining my background in STEM, dance, clinical practice, and motherhood, I enjoy inspiring young people to develop both creativity and ambition. As I transition from clinician to Teaching Assistant, I look forward to using these skills to help children achieve their potential and grow with confidence.

Work history

Stay at home mum

not in paid employment
London Borough of Havering
2022.02 - 2026.08

Opted not to return to my Radiography career when my daughter was born during Covid. I researched the montessori philosophy and set up a nursery setting for her in my home.

As my daughter was not able to access nursery, I studied the EYFS framework to better understand the personal, social and developmental needs of children at that age, and created a deeply nourishing and educational environment for her at home.

When she started school, I downloaded the curriculum from the school website and the national curriculum from the government website to ensure she was working in line with what was expected for her age, and I supplemented her learning and development at home.

I joined the PTA in her school, which consisted of 5 mums at the time, helping with the planning and implementation of all PTA events, mothers day stall, fathers day stall, Christmas fair, school disco's.
