Strong community outreach involvement with experience delivering mathematics and art education to under-resourced schools through programmes such as Macassar Maths, Pebbles Project and Imibala Art school. Demonstrated leadership in coordinating Clarendon Scholarship council fundraising initiatives while sustaining long-term commitments to Greensleeves children’s Orphanage and Cloetesville Summer School Church Outreach. Strengthened rural development efforts via Habitat for Humanity, New kids on the block and His People Church construction projects, complemented by clinical support across Stellenbosch Mediclinic, Worcester hospital and Avian Park settlement clinic. Seeks to continue advancing equitable access to education, healthcare and community infrastructure.
Educational outreach work- This involved teaching mathematics at underprivileged schools as part of the Macassar Maths programme in 2009-2010 and again in 2013 In 2014 I volunteered as part of the Cloetesville Summer School Church Outreach mission In, addition I was involved in teaching art to high school students attending rural schools, that had no art programs, as part of the Pebbles Project and at the Imibala Art school outreach programme(2009 -2010) Additionally, volunteered at Greensleeves children’s Orphanage( 2017) Nominated as the Clarendon Scholarship council Outreach secretary where I ran numerous fundraising events over a 12 month period 2020-2021
Rural development outreach work - This included construction work done with Habitat for Humanity (2010), where we assisted in building houses for families in settlement areas, New kids on the block (2011), where we assisted in the building of an orphanage and at His People Church (2012), where we assisted with renovations
Clinical Outreach involvement – This included holiday volunteer work at Stellenbosch Mediclinic and Worcester hospital (2010), First Aid volunteer work at numerous school sport events (2010), old age home volunteer work at Huis Martina (2011) and Andre van Der Walt (2014) In 2014 I also volunteered at the “One to One” festival for physically and mentally handicapped children In addition, for the duration of my final year (2016) I volunteered once weekly at the Avian Park settlement clinic
Innovation and technology involvement:
I have written a business case for the development of OXERA (Oxygen efficient respiratory Aid - approved by SAPRA). I have presented this design to Prof Clutton-Brock at MDTEC who kindly tested the device for us (to the value of 8000 pounds) free of charge. This testing has informed future development of the device and will assist us in our long-term goal of achieving MHRA approval. MHRA approval is globally recognized, and this will facilitate OXERA’s introduction into the standard Oxygen therapy escalation pathway in developing countries where it will be of highest benefit.
