  • Designed and implemented a variety of lesson plans, that are tailored and catered for specific levels, with adaptations to help swimmers who are struggling, as well as swimmers are under-stimulated with the exercises in the lesson.
  • Assessed and analysed the swimmers progress and provided feedback for how the swimmers can improve and what they need to do. I also implemented this into future lessons and aimed to make the lessons fun and engaging to get the most out of the swimmers.
  • Communicated with parents about how their swimmer is progressing and any additional needs that their swimmer may have that I need too cater for. For example, I had a swimmer who had hearing loss, so whenever I communicated with them, I made sure to hold eye contact with them and used hand gestures to ensure that the swimmer understood what was happening during the lesson.

  • I worked with a variety of young swimmers between the ages of 8-13, some of which had made County level. where I developed tailored coaching plans for the different squads that I was coaching, to ensure that the squads and swimmers I was coaching, where receiving specific and relevant session plans that were designed to help them improve and continue that upwards trajectory of progression. Whilst ensuring that the swimmers weren't being overtrained or under-stimulated.
  • During this role, I had to communicate with younger swimmers with all different personality types and had to find the best way of communicating with them, so that they could understand the feedback being delivered to them, as well as the aims and intentions of the session as well. I also had to communicate with the other coaching staff around me, to ensure that the younger swimmers where ready to be in my squads and that my older swimmers where ready for their next step forward within the club.
  • Also, due to working with younger children I had to ensure that I had good behaviour management skills for when the children misbehaved or an incident occurred.

  • Monitored swimming areas to ensure safety of all guests during lane swims, Aqua fit classes, leisure swims and competitions.
  • Responded to emergencies on poolside where I have had to use first aid multiple times.
  • Provided help & assistance to the public with issues and tasks they needed support with. Such as helping fix broken lockers and taking care of any mess and cleaning required within the centre.
  • Communicating with a large team to ensure that rules where being followed and that the safety of everyone within the facility was monitored.
