I've always wanted to explore a career in the catering industry, because cooking has always inspired me, even though I haven't had many chances to practice it properly. Whilst I may not have a big kitchen or all the tools, but I still find ways to learn through watching videos, reading recipes, and trying out what I can with what I have. I'm excited by the idea of turning simple ingredients into something amazing. Being a chef feels like the perfect path for me, and I am ready to work hard, learn, and grow, no matter where I'm starting from.
My job entails a lot of food handling whether I'm preparing food for the customers in the takeaway or preparing food in batches for the restaurant dishes, I've had extensive training in food safety and hygiene and demonstrate these practices often to maintain a clean work environment whilst avoiding contamination and creating quality food. I work as a part of a team, often communicating well and leading others to efficiently serve customers and provide them with the best experience possible. Recently, new members of staff have been taken on, I was given the responsibility of training them up, showing them how to safely handle food and clean effectively, adhering to strict hygiene standards.
