- Some skills I have that align with becoming a teaching assistant for SEN students are that having a good understanding of Autism and neurodiversity as I have a firsthand experience with my own sibling who is autistic it enables me to understand how others may regulate there feelings differently and have different coping strategies so this helps tailor my approach for pupils in the future
- Also another skill is that adapting and becoming flexible in different situations that may arise as working with SEN pupils a routine can often change very quickly depending on the environment so I can also change to understand the situation also
- Moreover another skill I have is that I have quite well observational skills as I notice small changes in behaviours so I will understand when a pupil may need more help or engagement with something
