Duties and Responsibilities
· Designs and implements review strategies needed depending on the student’s need focusing on individual’s capacity to learn and considering the amount of time available before the scheduled exam.
· Evaluate and revise strategies in teaching upon analyzing results of post mock exam and adjusts accordingly.
· Assures quality educational experience that prepares the student not just for the exam proper but also for a diverse, ever-changing health care environment.
· Provides final coaching that constitutes test taking strategies, anxiety management and attitude development before, during and after the exam.
· Rooms patients and prepares them for examination by the provider.
· Measures vital signs, obtains history, documents and updates medication list.
· Provides patient/family education regarding growth, development, safety, nutrition and vaccines.
· Prepares for and assists provider with procedures such as administering vaccines, medications and treatments as ordered and within scope of practice.
· Documents and reports lab results to providers.
· Facilitates scheduling of follow up for patients and referral for consults and procedures.
· Prepares exam rooms for use, monitor supplies, sanitizing exam table and equipment between uses.
· Ensures all exam & treatment rooms & procedure trays remain stocked.
· Monitors emergency supplies, ensuring availability and integrity.
· Monitors drug samples and discards expired medications.
· Maintains organized, clean, efficient and confidential work area.
· Teach student nurses and midwives in classroom and laboratory utilizing an approved curriculum and visual aids of the necessary theoretical knowledge and skills to prepare them in their clinical/hospital exposure.
· Facilitate and delegate tasks that teach students their duties and responsibilities on their chosen profession adhering to the scope of their practice.
· Reported skills/ competency assessment results to the educational program coordinator following excepted guidelines
· Enforced lab and area protocols, rules and regulations; maintained discipline; utilized effective time management for clinical instruction
· Focus and provides social services for mothers and children that includes prenatal and postnatal services, family planning care, and pediatric carein infancy in hospital and community/barangay area.
· Over-all in charge in community engagement and activities of students assigned in the community area related to pregnancy and children’s health.
· Directs the students in yearly community development programs such as livelihood and medical/dental check-up.
