Playing, Coaching, Umpiring and all things Netball.
I like all sporting activities but my number one is netball. I am passionate about netball and am keen to see the sport continue to grow and develop across Wales, being part of the board for the past 8 years, in more recent years in the position of Vice Chair Person supporting the strategic direction and delivery of the vision for netball across Wales.
I was proudly presented Female Sports Coach of the Year by Sports Wales in 2009 for the impact in increasing female participation in netball across Blaenau Gwent and developing several netball clubs from grass roots. I am the founder member of Tredegar Netball Club and have coached within the club for 21 years. I enjoy playing, coaching, umpiring and the organising within the club. I am part of the South East Wales Netball League Committee leading the co-ordination of the junior netball leagues. I have worked with Formerly 'Welsh Netball' for many years in a community coach capacity and also as a UKCC Course tutor helping the development of the sport regionally and Nationally. I have a wealth of experience in the netball field and love for Wales Netball.
School Governance
While I came out of the teaching profession, I am an active school Governor within the Tredegar Schools Cluster. I am currently Vice Chair Person of Bryn Bach Primary School Governing body and have been for the past 8 years, supporting the school through extensive change management and more recently an Estyn Inspection.
I am presently the Vice Chair of Governors at Tredegar Comprehensive School, where I chair the curriculum engagement working group the finance panel and actively engage in supporting the strategic direction of the school. I thoroughly enjoy my roles within the school Governing body's and the link into the our education system, which is something I am particularly passionate about.
Hobbies
Other than a love of Netball, I show keen interest in politics, I love music, travelling, and shopping.
