Throughout the years, I have been thinking about joining the police force but not having the options because I did not have the settled status up until now, and I did not have the skillset that I have now in order to be able to deal with day to day tasks in the police force.
After going through different employers in different environments, I have grasped a lot of skills out of which include relationship building with customers, great communication skills, problem solving skills, staff training skills, and many more.
I have been working at McDonald's up until now and I have managed to get the crew trainer role and managed to train a few couple new crew trainers that have come to work and turning them into fully capable crew members, and have been dealing for the past year with loads of customers and delivering outstanding customer service and support.
I used to be in the postal position where I would have to have great team communication and team cooperation skills where packages would be sent from the clients and after I would have to inspect it for any damages and act accordingly and refund the customer their money, after that I would have had to pass the returned item into a container that would then be passed onto our second team which was the putaway team that would help repack completely those clothes.
In this workplace I have learned a lot of things such as multi tasking multiple tasks at the same time in order to keep up with the rest of the people and even be ahead in some situations, and work on my communication as I used to struggle with it, and perfected my communication skills with the managers and other workers in my workplaces in order to improve and to maximise the efficiency that our team was working at leading to bigger targets being achieved and being praised by our managers.
I have worked during my summer time at Domino’s where I have started off only as a cashier and had the chance to excel my communication and team working skills by learning each part of domino’s. That includes taking orders, preparing for the delivery drivers, and even baking.
These have helped me improve my skills overall and I would say that I am very flexible and open to new ideas when it comes to a new workplace and having a lot of dedication and also putting a lot of hard work.
