• Taught Spanish to all year groups, including spending one day each week delivering Spanish lessons to various primary schools within the Trust.
• Led after-school tutoring sessions to support struggling learners, boosting their confidence levels.
• Collaborated with colleagues on departmental objectives and lesson planning, maintaining consistent teaching standards across the board.
• Helped with the creation of assessments for students, in order for the department to assess learner abilities accurately, identifying areas needing improvement effectively.

• I taught KS3&KS4 Spanish and French during my time here.
• I was responsible for a department of 5 MFL teachers including 2 highly experienced teachers (one being a former Head of Faculty) and 2 ECTs (one who I was also a mentor for).
• I was responsible for everything within the MFL department including the implementation and impact of the curriculum, assessment and feedback (I greatly appreciate marking, feedback and student response as major contributors to progress and created a model for providing whole class feedback which is still used throughout Trinity Multi Academy Trust and Outwood), performance management, carrying out learning walks, behaviour management, promoting MFL throughout the academy, and feeding down from Senior Leadership.
• At GCSE students historically opted for either French or German, however I was able to add Spanish to the choice of Modern Foreign Languages and thoroughly enjoyed teaching ab initio Spanish to both KS3 and KS4 students.
• After a 3 year decline in average progress, at the point of me leaving there was a significantly positive shift in student outcomes, which was highlighted during our very successful MFL Subject Review Report.
• I engaged with professional development opportunities as much as possible, including attending a confidential meeting with AQA during which I was given drafts of the new languages GCSE taught from Autumn 2024, and was able to provide feedback for them to take into consideration before finalising these.
• I maintained the MFL department budget ensuring efficient use of resources.

• As part of the Trinity MAT, I worked 1 day a week teaching at Akroydon Primary Academy, and the other 4 days a week at Trinity Academy Halifax.
• I also delivered the Teacher Subject Specialist training for MFL teachers wanting to improve their skills in teaching Spanish.
• I worked as a Spanish and French teacher here for almost 3 years, and was mainly responsible for planning the KS4 Spanish resources for the whole MFL department.
