20 years experience working directly with vulnerable people in Portsmouth. Multi-agency working and problem solving. Full time advice work for the last 12 years.
I am a Specialist Debt Adviser and Debt Relief Order Intermediary at Advice Portsmouth. I manage my own DRO casework and assist colleague with debt enquiries.
I am also Generalist Adviser offering advice on various matters including: welfare benefits, family law, employment issues, consumer complaints and housing.
I have written and presented training re: debt management option to external organisations and conduct outreach advice at various locations within the PO1 to PO6 area.
I use an online case recording system, following all necessary protocols and I have experience of using Advisernet from a period when I was a volunteer adviser at CAB Portsmouth in 2010.
I was employed by Unison the Trade Union for Southampton Division to assist with branch organisation at Winchester branch office. This was a 1 year temporary contract. I offered support to branch offers with networking, recruitment to Union membership of staff working for Hampshire County Council and local schools, and to organise promotional events. I left this post when the contract term expired in December 2012.
I was a racial harassment caseworker within Portsmouth Council's Hidden Violence Team based at the Civic Offices in Portsmouth. I provided casework support to people reporting racial harassment within the city, assisting with police liaison and management moves. I also supported clients at the witness service in Portsmouth Magistrates Court should the alleged perpetrators be prosecuted.
The Hidden Violence team was repeatedly restructured and I left my post to try something new.
