• C(E)TR’s have been developed as part of NHS England’s commitment to improving the care of adults and children with learning disabilities and Autism with the aim of reducing admissions and unnecessarily lengthy stays in hospitals and reducing health inequalities
• The aim of the C(E)TR is to bring a person-centred and individualised approach to ensuring that the treatment and differing support needs of the person with learning disabilities and their families are met and that barriers to progress are challenged and overcome
• The role of the chair is to ensure processes are followed appropriately, care is reviewed in line with national guidance and a KLOE report with recommendations is produced
• The Expert Clinical Reviewer role ensures the clinical pathway and treatment plans are reviewed and where necessary recommendations are produced to ensure care is safe and appropriate
