  • I enjoy an active lifestyle and am pleased, both my teenage boys also share this interest, as I believe exercise, promotes a great sense of well-being, particularly improved mental health and headspace, vitally important whether exam stressors, work pressures or just life in general. In the past couple of years we have all discovered a love of paddleboarding and kayaking and make the most of the warmer weather at one of the many lakes or beautiful coastlines, we are blessed to have in beautiful North Wales.
  • Animals are also a passion of mine and one, that I share with my youngest son. As he was required to undertake work experience whilst completing his Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award, I helped him secure a voluntary placement at Tropical Exotics in Rhuddlan, which evolved into a paid weekend job. Fast forward a month or so and a new edition joined the family, a leopard gecko, followed a little later by two red-eyed tree frogs and a pacman frog! His knowledge and confidence grew so much, that he embarked on a breeding project with the owner of the shop and they successfully bred their leopard geckos, which resulted in around twelve babies which have been sold. Took our dog, Dave, a little while to adjust to not being the centre of attention!
  • I enjoy a challenge, particularly when it is something outside of my comfort zone and supports local charities. I am currently considering a Sahara Desert Challenge in aid of St Davids Hospice and attended the open evening with my youngest, It is a once in a lifetime opportunity and it does require a considerable amount of money to be raised but if we can then we both want to take part and raise vital funds for this amazing charity.

Accomplishments

Tandem Skydive 10,000 feet to raise vital funds for St Davids Hospice 2015

I decided for my 40th birthday to do something which I had always wanted but never thought I would do skydive! I contacted St Davids Hospice after they emailed me with an opportunity to jump and thought, I would not back out, as I had raised a considerable sum of money and would not want to let the Charity or my sponsors down.

Apprehensive and petrified I did jump on the 12 September 2015! It was completely terrifying but equally exhilarating!
