As the first point of contact for all EMAS personnel, I was responsible for managing shift patterns, sickness, return to work, overtime, and financial adherence, whilst ensuring adequate cover. Policy compliance and updating procedures as required, coordinating leave and compliant ambulance cover across four counties, ensuring Equality and Diversity standards and training, designing and delivering EDI training, communication interventions, leadership sessions and mediating within the East Midlands.
I worked within a team of Speech and Language Therapists spanning four hospital sites, maintaining patient records, scheduling appointments, and producing confidential reports. I introduced an archiving system, trained staff on its use, and delivered training on the NHS S1 system. Additionally, I facilitated workshops for patients with dementia and stroke, as well as their families, to support their communication and understanding.
I served as Administrator to School Inspectors, organising and setting up school inspections throughout Nottinghamshire, and managing all related documentation and reporting.
My role was Director and owner and was extremely varied from training - both teachers and customers from a very diverse audience, children and schools, colleges, members of the general public and specialist workshops for people with learning disabilities to designing and working with development companies to create bespoke craft items and appearing on live TV for over five years as a Craft Expert, demonstrating items for sale which included working for several well-known companies using and demonstrating their products, creating training DVD's as well as my own bespoke products - making porcelain figurines and dolls for Harrods and Hanley's. These were manufactured in my studio by my specialist team of employees. In this role, I employed a small workforce and ran all of the day to day business aspects, such as purchasing, HR and welfare, design, finance, wages etc.
Initially responsible for the HR department, managing the typing pool and small factory shop, handling payroll and cash transactions as well as secretary to the Division Manager. I was promoted to implement Just in Time supply chain management and served as Project Manager overseeing contract packing, managing a large internal and was responsible for an external teams of contract packers. Through this work I delivered L&D training for external clients, including Mars, Pedigree, and Boots.
