Following up medical reports from scans and biopsies both inside UHNM and trusts from outside the area. Liaising with patients, families and district nurses as part of patient care plan. During this period I covered different roles from Child protection to Oncology secretary. General day to day duties were answering calls, typing letters, organising diaries and covering other staff when on annual leave including those who were higher bands. This also involved working alongside many different external agencies including social services, district nurses and GPs.
In this role I worked in the store café and covered the shop floor if needed. Served customers, stock rotation and ordering, cash handling and ensuring the café was always clean.
Starting out on the checkouts, working up to team leader. This involved customer service in many ways including supporting customers with their shopping if required. In the team leader role I supported staff to ensure they were providing customers with the best customer service possible by being there to answer questions or concerns. I also ensured that the staff were up to date with their safe and legal training. From the checkouts I progressed to working in the cash office, this included cash handling, right to work documentation check and all overtime being signed off accordingly and in a timely manner.

Calm under pressure
Achieved the UHNM Hero award and received a compassion award. These were both nominated by patients.
I have completed additional training programmes through UHNM to improve my skills including a communications course. I have also trained to be the manual handler assessor in our department. Recently I have set up a well being board in the office to help my colleagues ease the pressure of the work that we do.
I volunteered at one of our local hospitals before working at UHNM. This involved helping members of the public with direction or support and helping the staff with jobs to help them in their role.
