I am a mature woman.
I have always been very hard working and pride myself on being able to balance work, family and other personnel commitments. I have a wealth of experience in the catering industry. I have worked in various catering establishments throughout my career.
I would like to move away from the catering aspect and apply my life time of organisational, managerial and life experience skills to work in a customer or admin position.
Now I would like part time hours, preferably a 4 day week. I can be flexible in hours and days.
I am a very conscientious worker.
I am always well organised and take pride in my appearance.
I believe 'if a job is worth doing, do it right'
I have a very positive and bubbly personality .
I am willing to take on new experiences and challenges in a customer facing or admin role.
I am highly motivated in any tasks given to me and having work in catering, I can work under pressure in a fast moving working environment.
Over the years I have been involved in many charitable and fun raising projects through work, always coming up with new ideas to generate funding for local charities .
I know that with my inter personnel skills and qualifications I certainly would be a good asset to any company or firm that is willing to hire me.

During my years in Thornhill I was responsible for cash handling in both roles
As a HE Technician I was required to collect contributions from the students and purchase cooking ingredients with a budget assigned by the school
I would buy on 'best value ' and would calculate each dish individual This required me to test out ingredients and source quality foods to work within my budget
As the manager in the canteen I was responsible to source out tenders that would supply and deliver good quality food at a reasonable price Again all dishes would be individually cost and then marked up for selling
Cash handling would also be involved in school meals were the money would be counted, lodged and invoices and receipts would filed
All goods delivered to the canteen would be checked for quality and quantity and checked of by an assigned member of staff Weekly and monthly stock takes would be carried out to ensure budget and stock were in line
As a catering manager in a school the students are your customers It is important to respect their opinions and likes and dislikes I would freqently ask for feedback on the service that I was providing and made changes to suit their needs were possible Parents would also contact me about meals and special dietary requirements that we could cater for I would always be visible during lunchtime incase any of the students wanted to ask about meals or complain The complaints would always be taken on board and I would ensure that the students were happy with my reponse or actions
Working in Thornhill I used FAS and SIMS packages FAS was used to order and invoices goods and consumables I was trained in house on this system Sims was used as a personal data base of the students and I was able to used this effectively when requiring address and contact number for students during coursework time in Home Economics The canteen used the biometric system for paying for th meals This system was useful in deteminding food trends within the canteen and projected number on special event days with lead to control over budgeting
