• During my time with Beck and Pollitzer I started as their Transport Manager for the Midlands region within 6 months I was promoted to their National Transport Manager covering others depots in the North and South regions. They took the decision to wind down the operations in both areas closing the depots I was involved in the redundancy process for the staff and relocating the equipment to the midlands region. The plant and equipment moved became my responsibility for managing the stores serving the whole country for all the lifting equipment which included slings and shackles up to forklifts ranging from 7t to 27t and the hydraulic gantries ranging from 100t to 1100t.
• I had to produce procedures for tracking the equipment to maximise utilisation and producing the internal charges for the hires.
• I also had responsibility for the pre use and post use checks, breakdowns and arranging the LOLER,PUWER and relevant PAT electrical checks.
