Carl Cashman

I'm Carl Cashman and was born in 1983 in Bedfordshire and have worked within the creative market for the last 15 + years as a freelance Artist. I've worked for companies exhibiting, creating and designing, making Artwork for festivals such as Glastonbury and Boomtown and Brands/Charities including Daler Rowney and ITV, creating everything from set design to large scale murals internationally.

My main Artwork is geometric in style, for which I use acrylic, spray paint and masking tape, until recently I worked from my studio at Gigswell Arts in Letchworth and in 2024 painted Letchworths first ever permanent mural which is in the town center next to Iceland.

Over the years, as well as being a freelance Artist I've had various forms of employment, including general labouring and painting and decorating, fitting loft insulation and fruit picking in Australia and multiple various warehouse roles including picking and packing for WH Smiths, Dyson and Dairy Crest.

I have now been with Altro for 18 months in my various roles and my experience with Altro so far has been one of my most enjoyable working experiences I've had. The company as a whole is a pleasure to be part of. The working environment from management to fellow employees is a cohesive team with everyone's opinions listened to regardless of experience and position.

As much as I enjoy working at Altro I do miss the creative enviromement and am also looking for a role where I spend more time with my family. I have absolutely no issue working over time etc, but on a rotating shift pattern im only present as a parent and partner for 50% of the month and would like this to not be the case long term.
