Production Technician

  • Actively promoting a health and safety culture across the site, with the aim of eradicating accidents and injuries.
  • Contributing to toolbox talks, safety observations and conversations and
  • Operating the plant and monitoring flows, levels, and pressure in accordance with company operating procedures.
  • Working within shutdowns (pre-work scopes, line walks, and start-up), flushing, purging, and isolating the plant, and leak testing, along with third-party specialists.
  • Start up and shut down the monitor water injection system, booster pumps, main pumps, and sample water quality.
  • Start up and shut down the monitor for LP, HP, and gas export compressors.
  • Start up and shut down the monitor oil plant booster pumps, metering jiscoot, and main oil line pumps.
  • Bringing wellheads online
  • Perform work site safety visits, toolbox talks, gas testing, LSA, benzene, and mercury checks for breaking of containment, and vessel entry.
  • Adjusting and logging chemicals, plant rates, performing oil-in-water samples, BS&W, gas/H2S sampling, fiscal metering, and oil proving and sampling.
  • Sending and receiving pipeline pigs.
  • Stopping or starting changeover fuel gas systems as required by production demand.
  • Working with SECE – fire pumps, testing deluge/sprinkler systems, ESDV, and BDV testing on a monthly basis.
  • Line walking for pre start up checks post shutdowns, commission line walks after new plant installations
  • Continual review of plant operating procedures and updates, as required.
  • Responding to emergency situations and plant upsets
  • Assisting in CCR (Central Control Room) activities, as required.

  • Conducting permit vision LTI and LOLC audits to ensure compliance, reporting, and rectify any issues or anomaly’s

Maintaining Area Plant

  • Conducting 1st Line maintenance, e.g. Changing filters, gauges, DP cells, pressure testing, and valve greasing.
  • Preparing the plant for planned maintenance and summer shutdown, DFPV isolates and de-isolates as required.
  • Performing preventative and reactive adjustments to prevent problem escalation, e.g. opening/closing valves
  • Identifying, diagnosing and rectifying minor faults and changing over stand-by plant as necessary
  • Raising notification for corrective maintenance work orders in the asset management system (Unisol)
