Work history

Finance Administrator

NS&I
02.2023 - 11.2024

National Savings & Investments

  • BOSS - This is where I began my journey at NS&I, which started as general office duties, including lots of paperwork, I was then moved on to checking high-value payments and PI checking.

I moved on to another team (Repayments) after proving my worth within the company at BOSS.

I was given the task of training my replacement before leaving. My replacement has now earned himself a permanent contract with NS&I and is still doing a great job on BOSS.

  • REPAYMENTS - This section consisted of me opening and closing customers' ISA accounts and transferring them to other major banks, which meant I was communicating with different companies via digital and paper mail services to transfer customers' accounts to other major banks such as Halifax, NatWest and Lloyds

Whilst doing this job, I began to help out on PAG by organising the warrants in the morning, which on most days contained around 3000 warrants that had to be sorted and sent to different departments of the building.

After doing that for a short while, the manager of PAG decided she wanted me on her team permanently, so she put in a request for me to be transferred to her team.

  • PAG - This job involves a process called NILO, which includes making payments and using Spreadsheets via Excel

A lot of paperwork is involved, so organisation skills are necessary.

I do a lot of communicating with customers who have won from their Premium Bonds.

I ended up being put in charge of this team, which meant I had to plan a course of action that would best suit my team, adhering to their needs and skills so we could work efficiently as a collective.

This was decided throughout several meetings where I put my plan to management.

When I took over, we had an overload of two years worth of work. This was completed within three months due to the plan I implemented into the business. We are now up to date, and there is no holdover.
