Mulholland Contracts are a regional ground works civil engineering contractor in Scotland that work on dynamic groundworks and civil packages.

My role and responsibility on site and within the company would be Surveying and Setting-out tasks using Trimble robotic total stations/GPS and making sure everything on site is into the correct detail and recorded appropriately.

A typical day on site would consist of setting out of Drainage, working out manhole grades and tail inverts. Setting out of road, using the latest road construction details. Setting out/nailing foundations (Plots, Substations, Pumping stations, Ring beams etc). Daily use of AutoCAD for making maps etc for setting out use or creating drawings to assist the groundworkers on the site. Assisting with health, safety and quality control management. Management of Trainees. Updating progress of daily diaries. Drawing register management on site.

Worked as a Project Surveyor on Suburban Rail Loop in Melbourne. The entire project in total is expected to cost upwards of $125billion. On the project I worked in collaboration with Lang O'Rourke, Delcon and others.

My responsibilities on site are to survey any existing or as-built conduits and record the data using 12D to fill out attributes in relation to the conduits. This data is then processed in 12D and sent on the the necessary utility mapping company. Other responsibilities involve any setting out required on site wether that be bolt pads for tram stations, cctv positions, pile positions or setting out of any conduits that could effect future works.
