Helideck Landing Officer (HLO) / Deck Crew Team Leader – Offshore Oil & Gas Platform

A safety-conscious and dependable HLO Deck Crew Team Leader with experience supporting offshore helicopter operations, deck activities, lifting operations, and safety management on offshore oil and gas installations. Responsible for ensuring the safe movement of personnel, cargo, and equipment while maintaining full compliance with company procedures, permit-to-work systems, and offshore safety standards. I also do the safety technician role when required experienced in carrying out workplace safety inspections, identifying hazards, maintaining safety critical equipment, monitoring compliance with HSE procedures, promoting a strong safety culture, and supporting incident investigations and risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment. Experienced as a Banksman/Slinger, directing crane operations, preparing and inspecting lifting equipment, attaching and securing loads, and providing clear hand and radio signals to crane operators to ensure safe and efficient lifting operations. Skilled in helideck operations, emergency response, cargo handling, and leading multidisciplinary teams in demanding offshore environments. Key Responsibilities

• Support safe helicopter landing and departure operations in accordance with offshore HLO procedures.
• Prepare, inspect, and maintain the helideck to ensure operational readiness and compliance with safety regulations.
• Conduct passenger and cargo handling operations, including securing loads and hazardous materials where required.
• Perform firefighting, rescue, and emergency response duties as part of the offshore emergency response team.
• Carry out routine deck maintenance, housekeeping, and equipment inspections to maintain a safe working environment.
• Inspect and maintain lifting equipment and accessories.
• Communicate effectively with pilots, offshore personnel, vessels and the control room to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Adhere to permit-to-work systems, tool box talks, lift plans, risk assessments, and company HSE policies at all times.
• Assist with general deck operations and support logistics activities as required.
• Assist riggers with rigging jobs helping set up lifting equipment and accessories.
• Maintain rigging loft.
• Seafastening cargo.
• As Safety Technician maintain safety critical equipment making sure it is fit for purpose.
