Callum Burgess

I am a motivated History Teacher who holds a middle leader position at a highly selective Grammar School in North Kent. While working in this role I have had responsibility for assisting in the management of 16 Form Tutors and 311 students, providing pastoral support and planning PSHE for young adults. In department I have redesigned both the sequence of learning for years 7 & 8 incorporating all three disciplines of Humanities. I have also planned history schemes of work for all year groups in KS4&5, tracking data and providing differentiated lessons for the schools SEND pupils.

I have also demonstrated my willingness to engage in extra-curricular involvement, through running the KS5 History Society and essay writing competition. With regard to school sport, I have coached both age group and senior rugby, the latter overseeing their triumph in the 2022 Kent 7s tournament. Due to my own background in athletics, I was the schools middle distance coach during our triumphs in the 2022 junior ESAA National Schools Cup. Demonstrating my year round commitment to extra-curricular engagement.
