Senior Assertive Outreach Worker

Since working for Julian House I have moved into my current position of Senior Assertive Outreach Worker, I currently oversee a growing team of 7 staff set to increase. I work daily with our homeless cliental to ensure they receive sound advice and are supported into accommodation.

My role currently includes but is not limited to:

  • Mentoring new hires, providing comprehensive training that resulted in faster skill acquisition and higher job performance.
  • Oversee daily operations of the department efficiently by delegating tasks appropriately based on individual strengths.
  • Consistently met deadlines under pressure while maintaining high-quality work output in a fast-paced environment.
  • Improved team morale and productivity through effective communication and active listening skills.
  • Conducted regular performance evaluations for staff members, identifying areas of improvement and developing action plans to address them effectively.
  • Led team development and assisted in project management coordination.

Within my initial role with Julian House I have learned and developed many skills. I was a housing management officer, within my role I oversaw all of our Exeter properties, around 20 units, over a variety of services.

My responsibilities included but were not limited to:

HMO Intelligence Officer

I previously worked for, Justice for Tenants, a not for profit organisation that helps councils with uncovering unlicensed HMO properties to insure correct regulatory oversite and enforcement action is taken place to improve the private renters sector.

  • Regularly conversing with tenants to provide them with the correct advice in regards to their living situations.
  • Speaking to Tower Hamlets council, to acquire the correct data for both their council housing and social housing schemes within their borough.
  • Identifying suspected unlicensed properties and then cross referencing this data with the licensing registers provided.

I worked for Co-Op as a Team Leader. I have learned a lot in this role when it comes to priorities in the work place in which management tasks to finish first as a majority of shifts I was the Duty Manager. As the majority of time spent was as a Duty Manager I had to develop new responsibilities:

  • Mentored and guided employees to foster proper completion of assigned duties.
  • Coached team members in customer service techniques, providing feedback and encouragement toward reaching sales goals.
  • Led team of 2-3 members per shift while providing exceptional customer service.
