Working in secondary education for the last five years has provided me the opportunity to gain a range of different skills. I have excellent communication skills as I am in regular contact with students, parents, and external professionals. I can remain calm in stressful situations and am able to use my initiative to resolve any issues that arise. Working in a management role for the last six months has allowed me to gain more administrative skills, such as recording and handling data, some of which is highly sensitive. I have gained experience of organising meetings between various professionals and taking notes of these meetings for school records. I have been responsible for identifying students at risk of disengaging from school and then creating bespoke learning plans for them. This has allowed me to hone my skills in time management and my ability to work proactively and independently. However, as manager, I also mastered the ability to work well as part of a team to best support my colleagues.
