My first job role in Early Years Education. This role involves providing the best-possible care and support to children aged 2-5 years old. I have worked closely with parents/carers and my team to support their children within the setting and provided additional support in self-care, speech, language and communication and social skills. I aim to encourage children to be kind and confident whilst maintaining important safety and security regulations and keeping my work confidential. Some of my Key Responsibilities include being a Key Worker, First Aider, Tracking Growth and Development, Supporting Children with Daily Routine and Being a Positive Role-Model! I completed 30 hours of Work Experience with children aged 0-2 at Pebbles Nursery & Day Care. During these 30 hours I gained experience in supporting babies self-care needs and daily routines. I learnt how to create formula milk, assist at meal times (3 times a day), attend to sleep routines and engage the babies in an activity that was inclusive and interesting. As part of my experience, I was observed and assessed during my practice and received positive feedback upon reflection.
This role involved answering the phone, filing, creating invoices, completing fuel logs, entering data on a computer and other clerical duties. I gained skills involving the use of Microsoft Office and recording important information, as a result I am very confident in managing data in a workplace and my Digital Literacy skills have improved, having a positive effect in my academic work.
