  • Feb 2014 Service Evaluation Central & North West London NHS Foundation Trust Aim: Individuals presenting with psychological distress seek help from general hospital emergency departments (EDs). Spend hours in the EDs for further reviews or admissions. To address these problems a 3-month pilot services was launched in Jan 2014 to provide a resource outside the ED. Method: Primary outcome measures - patient experiences spending more than 4 hours in ED. Procedures

  • Psychopathology During my core psychiatry training at St. Mary training scheme, I underwent core Psychiatric training and acquired relevant competencies related to mental state examination diagnosis, formulation and understand of the underlining psychopathology
  • Pharmacotherapy Over the years, I have gained experience in Pharmacotherapy and prescribing of psychotropic medication. I psychoeducate and inform patients of drug interaction and side effects, importance of physical health monitoring and risk of non-compliance. I refer to the BNF or the Maudsley Prescribing guidelines and discussing with the pharmacists in doubt and seek advice if needed
  • ECT Competencies I underwent ECT training during my SHO training and participated in the local ECT Rota Administering ECT. Currently I am the ECT lead consultant for west London .i am in the process of developing the nuero -modulation service .
  • Psychotherapy My psychotherapeutic skills and experience include CBT (2 short case), psychodynamic psychotherapy (short and long-term), IPT and Family therapy amongst others. I achieved these skills while I was a core trainee. In recent years, I have participated in delivering group therapy (2013) and CBT for PTSD (2007) .I also facilited jointly with the Psychologist DBT group therapy 2018 .I also complted to I have received supervision from a Consultant Psychotherapist for these cases. I have attended motivational interviewing skills which I have been using in my daily practice
  • Mental Health Act/ Mental Capacity Act/ DoLS/ Medico-legal Towards the end of my core training I obtained Approval under Section 12(2) of the mental health Act. I continue to be Section 12 approved (on the London Register). I am also approved Clinician since 2010. In my day to day practice, I refer to the Mental Health Act manual and local/ Trust guidelines regarding Section 136 policy and other relevant updates
  • Risk Assessment & Report Writing I have gained training and experience working in risk assessment while working in General Adult Psychiatry and with the Community Forensic team. I have prepared reports for the Courts, Police, Mental health review tribunals, Manager’s hearing, tertiary referral panels amongst others. I have gained experience of dealing with Safeguarding issues particularly when dealing with vulnerable adults such as those with LD.
  • MDT Working & CPA Management In my current post and recent posts, I have had the experience of chairing and leading meetings including MDT meetings, Professionals meetings, Best Interest meetings and CPA reviews. I collaborate with the GP/ other agencies regarding the physical health and overall well-being of the patient and am keen in engaging with the patient in implementing crisis/ contingency plans and risk management plans.
  • AC Competencies I have been an Approved Clinician since 2010. Through my experience of working as a Consultant Psychiatrist, I am familiar with the role and responsibilities of an AC/ RC. I have been Section 12 Approved since 2009 and have gained experience in the assessment and treatment of patients under my care. I possess a good understanding of the Legal and Policy Framework and issues that arise relating to Equality & Cultural Diversity having worked in various areas of London and the UK. I have been reviewing the care of patients on CPA and CTOs implementing care plans including crisis/ contingency plans and risk management plans. I enjoy leading a MDT drawing upon the opinions and experience of my colleagues and strive to ensure good communication with MDT members, patients, carers and other relevant agencies. I refer to the Code of Practice or seek advice when needed

Voluntary Work I have been working as a volunteer as a Mental Health speaker for the project Nedaye Zan since 2014. I have attended several events and managed to influence decisions makers and accessibility of Mental Health services for the BME communities in Harrow
