
I am currently seeking a new position, which will allow me to continue to use my education, training, and prior experience to its full potential, but will also provide me with the opportunity to learn new skills in order that I can continue to contribute to the science sector I trained for. Since completing my degree then PGCE in 2002 I have worked in education for 20 years teaching 11–18-year-old students in science and A-Level Chemistry. During this time, I never lost my passion for research. I enjoyed teaching enormously and found it very rewarding at times, but I feel that the focus of teaching in schools is being directed toward business as a priority over education of the students. Most recently, I was about to start a PhD in antibody development for Aeirtec L.T.D, but due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to leave this position because of lost contracts in the clinical trials sector. I am now moving to re-enter research and development as I have missed the laboratory environment with its analytical methods and research. I have a passion for finding out new things and problem solving though trial and error of experimental techniques and I continue to look forward in seeing how science has progressed in its laboratory techniques and methods.

Publication description: This was an isolation technique in which we were able to increase the % macrophage recovery from sputum samples by removing neutrophils using CD66 based magnetic bead separation using IgG coated Macs beads.
