I'm currently a second year Game Design student in Ulster University with a focus on programming and design. I really enjoy developing my skills with programming and creating new ways to solve problems, I consistently look for new things to learn like a new game engine or techniques to develop unique narratives for games. I love working within a team as I've worked with a variety of people throughout my time studying Games Design and I am looking forward to expanding my skills and learning from new people that ill meet within the industry.
This experience was a 12 week academy course where we were tasked to create a GDD, plan out our games, create a presentation and finish a game within the 12 weeks. During these weeks we talked to industry professionals and learned new skills using software like Maya and Procreate. I created my game using Gamemaker Studio 2 and the game was entirely made using GML Gamemaker's own coding language, I used Asesprite to create a series of pixel art and animations for the player character, enemies and the map in the game.
This work experience was similar to the previous except this one I mainly focused on the creation and animation of 2D sprites in procreate and creating a song for my game in garage band. My duties included using visual scripting to create a 2D level with a moving animated character and enemies.
This was a 3 day work experience where I used Gamemaker Studio 2 to make a simple 2D game that would later be displayed on the Kippie C.I.C website. The game I made was called dungeon crawler, this work experience taught me the basics of visual scripting in Gamemaker as well as how to use procreate.
