Swanwick Military
2020.11 - Current
  • As an ATCO within 78 Sqn I am responsible for the safe transit of aircraft within West, Central and South East airspace.
  • As a qualified Unit Examiner I am responsible for completing standards and endorsement checks for existing and newly qualified controllers across all seats within the AoR.
  • I am fully qualified as a Supervisor, meaning I am responsible for the daily management of personnel to ensure the task is completed whilst being a central point of contact for any issues or tasks for the Sqn.
  • I am a qualified instructor for the Area radar operational conversion course, training and assessing new arrivals to best prepare them for area radar. I have also recently lead the re-write of the West AROCC package as it transitions into a 3 week course.
  • I have responsibility for instructing air defence training, the top priority of the Sqn to ensure that all controllers are comfortable in an air defence scenario and best prepared to execute the task as required. I lead and manage both simulated and live training exercises in order to achieve this.
  • I have previously held both Deputy Unit Training Officer and West Standards Officer - both high profile roles within the unit ensuring that both training and standards are maintained and executed effectively whilst also pushing for continuous improvement.

Trainee ATCO

Royal Air Force
Shawbury, Shropshire
2019.01 - 2020.11
  • Upon joining the Royal Air Force I completed various training courses in order to become a direct entrant Sgt. This built upon my management and leadership skills in order to best prepare me for the roles and responsibilities of the Sgt rank.
  • During this training I also built upon my report writing skills, my ability to work within a team and my ability to lead and manage a team in order to complete tasks in strenuous scenarios. These are all strengths that I have taken forward into my career as an Air Traffic Controller to enable me to work under the pressures the role brings.
  • I also completed the Joint Air Traffic Control Course. Giving me training in all Tower and Radar positions therefore allowing me to be an effective controller in both environments. This was supplemented with the Area Radar operational conversion course upon my arrival to Area radar.

Business Development Manager

  • Starting as a customer service advisor, I quickly progressed through various roles at the company to become a Business Development Manager. This progression showcases my strong work ethic and aspiration.
  • In my role I was business facing, conducting inspections of new businesses and assessing the suitability of them to work alongside the Wowcher brand. This built upon my interpersonal skills and professionalism as the face of the business.
  • I would lead meetings with sales reps across the business in order to develop strategies for the direction of the business and maximising potential growth for both Wowcher and business partnerships. This would unlock new revenue streams whilst also building on existing relationships.
