  • I am currently the Hospitality and Events Manager at Rothley Park Golf Club
  • It is a private members club which requires the highest standards of customer service
  • On my appointment I was asked to increase footfall and use of the club to increase sales and use of the club facilities
  • Historically the staff turnover was high, and the team were demoralised and lacked leadership
  • This had clearly effected service to the members who rightly expect high quality provision and service as it’s the most expensive Golf Membership in Leicestershire
  • Since my appointment I have introduced staff training and put in place procedures and structures that has given the staff some value and better focus
  • As a result, the staff have been empowered and feel part of a team
  • This has ensured their standard of service has been improved and our members have benefited and now use the clubhouse far more than they ever did
  • I have increased the staffing at significant times which ensures we have resources available at the peak times and this has shown a significant increase in sales and therefore profit
  • I have used my skills with social media and other software to provide better communication to members and I have introduced themed events, a consistent Carvery service and Quiz nights which have all been well attended and this has been introduced in the winter season when traditionally the club would have been closed
