To plan, construct and commission 2 swing over dairies in a remote farming location. Logistics was a challenge as well as weather.

• Engaged with local unemployed people and hired them to assist tradesmen and learn new skills
• Undertook various refurbishments and repairs on other buildings throughout the farm

I was contracted by Mafuro Farming to consult and construct Zimbabwe’s first Rotary Dairy (manufactured in South Africa) and other relevant structures. I worked alongside local contractors, consultants from South Africa and Mafuro management.

This project was challenging with regards to logistics, planning, available skilled labour, and quality of materials available and budget due to the economic situation in Zimbabwe.

• I advised the Client and implemented changes to the original plans to ensure the system worked more efficiently within Zimbabwe, as the blueprint was based on Rotary Dairies constructed and operating in South Africa where the environment is significantly different.
• Advised the Client of changes that could be made to the BOQ to reduce costs, the overall budget on the Dairy was significantly reduced.
• I engaged unskilled people local to the area, creating jobs teaching them a skill.
• I was asked to assist on other areas of the farm over and above the Dairy. e.g.. Refurbishment of the Managers house

Ronnoc owns and hires out Construction equipment throughout Zimbabwe. The equipment is in excellent condition, serviced regularly, fully compliant with regards to Zimbabwe and Health & Safety regulations and is operated by qualified and experienced operators.

• Equipment consists of Bomags, Plate Compactors, Concrete Mixers, Poker Vibrators, power Floats, Scaffolding and Concrete cutters as well as building accessories such as wheelbarrows, shovels and various other tools.

Several projects carried out and completed for Total Property Solutions (a division of Intrachem)

• Construction of an indoor Equestrian centre, outbuildings, offices, ablutions, decorative fountain, stable renovations and various other projects.
• Completion of a Harare Law Firms office block, boundary wall, renovations and repairs.
• Construction of a boundary wall and renovations to a private residence.
• Construction of a heated swimming pool at a private residence.

Intrachem

The Project was to build a state of the art, multi-million dollar Explosives Factory 20km out of Kwekwe. This project was extremely challenging as Covid hit a few months after construction began. But despite this, the project was handed over, fully functional and exceeded the expectations of the Client and was under budget.

• Erected sheds and factories
• Complete construction of staff housing, ablution blocks, offices, guest lodge, workshops and several external buildings
• Supervised external contractors.
• Worked with Consultants that specialised in different areas from explosives, steam to epoxy flooring, earth moving and solar installers.
• Budgets, purchasing, overseeing supervisors, supplier management, petty cash, daily planning and all other duties relating to running a construction site.

Gonarezhou National Park

This is an on-going contract that Total Property Solutions manages. I was based onsite and had a wide range of projects to oversee

• Complete the management house. It was left incomplete by another contractor
• Bridge construction
• Gravel road construction, management and repairs
• Identify high erosion areas and take relevant action.
• Work with a sub-contractor on the fabrication and installation of Gabion basket
• Construction of staff housing, ablutions, dining and communal areas
• Complete refurbishment of camping sites including, rondavels, ablutions and other fixed features
• Install blair toilets, water and ablution facilities throughout the Park.
