A Hardworking and motivated young adult seeking opportunity to progress my career and further develop and refine my skillset. Possessing an adaptive yet detail oriented approach to my work, I have been highly detail oriented, able to pickup new abilities and and expertise from colleges and independent study, Offer strong communication and interpersonal skills, proving to be a vital ability throughout my previous position allowing me to contribute to planning discussions with my peers and optimise work flow within my team .
At CAD Services I have worked on a diverse array of projects from high rise commercial buildings to smaller scale single zone contracts , being responsible for preparation and annotation of service front sheets which communicate design layouts of our co-ordinated MEP services for ease of install for on-site external contractors & co-ordination of the design of our service layouts by considering architectural constraints of each site and altering design intent plans and schematics from engineering consultants to enable various required hardware designs including HVAC systems , electrical containment , drainage & refrigerant pipework as well as domestic pipework to work in harmony with pre-existing infrastructure to serve various amenities throughout the building in an efficient manner & allow for ease of access to all service items and maintenance components whilst allowing for streamlined integration of any future works to these areas .
During my time at my current workplace I have used both the advice from my colleges and superiors in addition to research in my own time to adapt to use of new design software allowing me to find new approaches and techniques of my own volition to further improve work flow for both myself and team members.
In my previous position at Beechhall as a product designer / draughtsman I taught myself the use of design software such as autoCAD and fusion 360 and upon emphasising the possibilities of moving our design methods over to a digital format, was allowed to set up my own subdivision of the design department, creating my own design approaches and protocols to enhance not only our products themselves but also our manufacture process and our marketing materials.
This advancement in design also enabled us to have digital visualisations of our products to give our clients to an accurate render of their product in both 2D & 3D formats and afford the opportunity to give feedback on our ongoing designs during pre-production and refine our proposals to align with the clients expectations without the need of client having to have any prior familiarity with specification drawings or schematics via emails, minimising the need for in-person design consultations at our facility, allowing for a streamlined process for both our clientele and reducing time spent in meetings by staff to be allocated onto other ongoing projects .
Aside from my work in the design department, I also handled administrative duties and sales including team management , start to finish client liaison spanning multiple months per project quotation requests and hardware & material inventory management.
At Wylie's Veterinary Centre I spent 70 hours shadowing the head veterinary surgeon, as part of my preparation to enrolling for a position at the Royal Veterinary college ,where I learned about the daily runnings of the veterinary practice & the duties of the profession.
While at Wylie's I learned the importance of communication and organisation in a workplace developing my abilities to perform as a part of a larger team. I spent any downtime on the job immersing myself in the role by dedicating myself to learn all I could from textbooks kept at the practice in an effort to make myself the optimal candidate for the career upon leaving university when this was my ambition demonstrating my level of dedication to self improvement and my chosen career path.
I familiarised myself with the employer's internal regulations and safety protocols to ensure I carried out my responsibilities in a safe manner whilst simultaneously adhering to the requirements of my assigned tasks to allow me to deliver upon expectations of my employer .
At Hopefield I was responsible for maintaining care and proper husbandry conditions for the animals in their care, this allowed me to develop my analytical skills whilst also giving me experienced of working well under deadline pressure in addition to experience working as part of a larger team, cooperating as a unit to achieve our goals of each day all while developing my team working and communication skills.
During my time volunteering at Hopefield I also learned much about the logistical side of the organisation, learning the degree of organisation and planning required to operate their facility of their stature gave me experience of how a business would operate beyond surface level and I look to apply this experience in future roles in my career
