Brandon Foster

During the Summer of 2022 and 2023 I travelled to the United States on a J-1 working visa and gained employment at Club Getaway, Where I took on a variety of roles including general camp counsellor, Lifeguarding and High ropes instruction, Which gave me a variety of different experiences in different fields making it a very valuable 2 years. Some of my general responsibilities as a camp counsellor are as follows :

• Taught campers throughout activities, encouraging engagement from all levels of learners.
• Designed enriching and age-appropriate learning and recreational activities for campers.
• Collaborated with staff to achieve safe programme delivery.
• Built relationships with campers and staff through excellent communication.
• Observed swimmers attentively, quickly responding to risks and concerns.
• Handled challenging behaviour and misuse of pool facilities with clear, diplomatic communication.
• Taught physical education principles covering exercise strategies, sports and safety.
• Educated students in equipment use and safety.

I also Worked as a shift manager at Parkwood karting from the end of 2019 until April 2023 before attending America, In which I gained a variety of customer service and valuable leadership skills to carry on in my career some of the responsibilities I had included:

• Managed staff schedules, ensuring required coverage to meet shift needs within budget.
• Employed forward-thinking mindset to anticipate and quickly eliminate issues on shift.
• Trained and mentored new employees to maximise team performance.

After leaving Secondary school I gained a job in a personal interest field as a track marshal at team sport karting this was my first real world job experience and was enjoyable and gave me many skills to carry into my next employments some of my responsibilities included:

• Assist guests and always operate go karts in a safe and responsible manner
• Brief customers on track procedure and safety
• Maintain track appearance and functionality; reports any concerns to management
• Ensure that the pit and track areas remain clean and safe
