Brandon Amobi

I volunteer at my local food bank on every other Saturday. This has improved my appreciation of inequality and how many people go through daily struggles. The work involves preparing food packages of the what customers want and making sure that all customers are treated with respect. Through this work, I've gained communication and teamwork skills, while gaining a greater appreciation of how collective support can make in a time of need. It has also made me to consider the root causes of poverty and strengthened my desire to contribute positively to society, both now and in the future.

I have also completed a week's work experience at Morrisons supermarket. In this week, I discovered what goes on in a busy store. My work involved using the supermarket database to find and print tags of products, restocking shelves, making the store presentable to customers, assisting customers with their questions and shopping, and working with staff in making sure everything runs smoothly in the store. Through this experience, I developed great skills such as time management, adapting in new environments, and delivering good customer service. It also made me realise the teamwork, and attention to detail required to be able to operate in a fast-paced retail business.

In the past I participated in an apple coding club which helped me develop skills and increase my love for AI and technology. This course helped me build the foundation for coding and opened potential pathways leaving a great impression on me.
