My day to day being in the network analyst role is that I deal with most of our clients via the phone or email. I am the first point of contact for the operations team.
Any incidents that are being reported come to me for first diagnosis and if I can resolve the issue I will there and then.
If I cannot resolve this issue then I will collect the users contact information if not on file as well as the incident being experienced or the request they are asking for and pass this onto the appropriate team.
This also goes for change requests which come into the business from our customers.
This all runs through a ticketing system that we have in place that we use to keep track of incidents/changes/requests , as well as managing any assets we hold for the customers or equipment we have of our own.
Also within my team, we are constantly monitoring devices as well as having access to them to correct errors or reset checks if required , again this all on the behalf of our customers who have purchased this type of support.
I currently liaise with some of our project managers within our office and assist with service building.
This also means working with our engineers who are involved with the installation on customer sites, this all helping with the transition of the project to being live and going into operation.
In my daily role I also manage the time of our operators throughout the day and point them in the direction of what work is required to be completed within the set SLAs of the client in question .
I worked on for Capgemini on their IT Service Help Desk contracted to the Matalan head office. Daily tasks are varied. Below is the job role summarised.
• Providing first and second line support for the client both on site and off site.
• Delivering desktop, hardware, software and Blackberry support.
• Dealing with all levels within the business environment both on site and remotely.
• Diagnosing and repairing faults, escalating if necessary.
• Liaising with other teams to ensure the correct level of service is achieved.
• Meeting targets set, both at team level and an individual level.

I was a Access field technician for Virgin Media after successfully achieving 100% in my ENVQ as well as passing the SCTE tests required. In my role I provided a high quality standard of customer service and ensured every job I was assigned was completed to the best of my ability. I worked alone throughout the day but supported my colleagues by helping them when possible. I was given the responsibility of managing my own stock, ensuring I never over ordered and left myself with surplus equipment. Day to day I completed each job required in the correct manner following the set procedures.
I was also the ‘Voice Rep’ of the Wigan Franchise team who worked under Stephen Priestley. This involved reporting queries and current issues causing concern within the team and franchise. I reported back my findings to the team from the monthly ‘Voice’ meetings as often as possible.
