Blue Kempston

• I volunteer for this club, which I have been a member of for over 9 years, as an assistant coach and member of the water safety team for the Nipper and Junior sessions (aged 8-13 years) on Saturday mornings.
• I also represent the club in regional and national surf life saving competitions, in both the pool and ocean.
• I also represent of Wessex, competing against clubs from Cornwall, Devon and Wales.

• I have been working as a pool lifeguard at St Lukes swimming pool since September 2024.

• I have been working as a pool lifeguard at Sea Lanes 50m outdoor swimming pool since October 2024.

In both pool lifeguard roles, my responsibilities include:

• Monitoring swimmers and ensuring their safety
• Providing rescue responses when necessary.
• Performing First Aid when necessary.
• Monitoring and Maintaining equipment (i.e. rescue tubes, lane ropes, pool cover).
• Communication and Coordination - I work as a part of a team at Sea Lanes and St Lukes. We work together to ensure the safety of the public, the cleanliness of the facilities, relaying information, and coordinating with emergency services when necessary.
• Following the company's operating procedures (NOP + EAP).
• Incident reporting + logs - When an incident has taken place I am responsible for filling out an Incident Report Form.

• I have provided water safety as a surf lifeguard for events such as triathlons, sea swims, and 'charity dips'.
• In this role, my responsibilities include spotting dangers, offering safety advice to swimmers in the sea, performing rescue responses and providing first aid when necessary, all as part of the water safety team.

• AMEX Stadium
• I have been working in the kitchen and on the tills at Brighton and Hove Albion's AMEX football stadium since the beginning of September 2024.
• In this role, some of my responsibilities include prepping food, serving customers, handling card transactions using a till and card machine, collaborating with team members, and providing friendly and professional customer service.
